Our impact 2025 - 2026

Thanks to our generous community of supporters, we funded some truly exceptional things at Guy’s and St Thomas' over the past year.

Through generous donations and fundraising we helped the dedicated team go that bit further for patients, beyond what the NHS can.

A year of breakthroughs

100+ researchers and projects funded

We helped fund the Centre of Translational Medicine, transforming the future of medical research and supporting more than 100 researchers and projects.

200 patients received faster care

We funded a project that has delivered dental care 12 times faster – so far over 200 patients have already benefited from this project.

10 years of abseiling St Thomas’

This year marked 10 years of the St Thomas’ Abseil. Over the past decade, thousands of brave supporters have taken the plunge down St Thomas’ Hospital, raising over £1.8 million.

With your support, we’ve been able to find new ways to improve patient care

By connecting challenges with solutions and matching ambition with impact, we’ve been able to help the brilliant team at Guy’s and St Thomas’ to keep pushing boundaries.

Funding vital new spaces for compassionate care

Our supporters helped fund 2 vital new bereavement suites for parents experiencing the devastating loss of their baby before 18 weeks of pregnancy. These calm and peaceful spaces give the team at Guy’s and St Thomas’ a place to provide personalised, sensitive support, helping families navigate their loss with compassion.

“It’s so important we now have these new spaces where they can begin to grieve and process their loss.” – Leanna, Research Nurse and Pregnancy Specialist at Guy’s and St Thomas’

Supporting pioneering research

Thanks to our supporters’ ongoing generosity, £8.2 million funding has gone to the Centre for Translational Medicine (CTM), which supports researchers working today on the treatments that will save lives faster tomorrow.

Since we started supporting the CTM, more than 100 researchers and projects have been funded, helping to transform the future of research, accelerate scientific breakthroughs and create vital new treatments quicker.

Caring for the dedicated NHS staff

Thanks to our donors and fundraisers, Guy’s and St Thomas’ was able to launch the NHS’s 1st financial advice service for its dedicated staff.

The Money Coaching service – delivered by specialist financial advice agency Toynbee Hall – helps staff with budgeting, accessing grants or benefits, and to keep their finances on track. This is just one of the many ways our generous supporters are helping to take care of staff wellbeing, so they can provide the best possible care.

Speeding up dental care

Our generous supporters helped fund a project that has meant dental care is delivered 12 times faster – reducing patients’ waiting time for treatment from 6 months to just 2 weeks. Over 200 patients have already benefited from this project, which also enables more people to access care closer to home, cutting the environmental impact of traveling to hospital and reducing the number of missed appointments.

A cheer for our exceptional supporters

We could not have done any of the remarkable things above without our exceptional supporters.

Over the past year, 1,149 of them laced up their trainers and took on challenges from marathons to ultra walks, covering 76,175 miles between them – more than three times around the world!

Celebrating 10 years of abseil

In September, we celebrated 10 years of our adrenaline-filled abseil event. In that time, thousands of our supporters have taken the 160 feet plunge down St Thomas’ Hospital, raising over £1.8 million.

Our ever-growing community

Over 930 generous people joined our community by signing up to donate to our cause every month. Many of them go on to leave a gift in their Will to make sure future patients experience the same kindness and support from the dedicated team.

“The catering staff were brilliant, and the tea lady always had a smile on her face.” – a former patient who has chosen to leave a gift in their Will.

We are so grateful to all our supporters who are helping Guy’s and St Thomas’ be one step ahead for patients, staff and communities.
