Frequently Asked Questions

Where are our fundraisers working?

Our fundraisers will be onsite in Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospitals from November through to 20 December.

How do I know the person I spoke to is legitimate?

Our fundraisers will be wearing charity branded clothing and will have a fundraising ID badge to show that they are legitimate fundraisers. They will also have branded Charity marketing leaflets and a pull-up banner to identify themselves and to help explain why they are there.

If you would like to confirm the details of a Guy’s & St Thomas’ Charity fundraiser who you recently spoke to, please contact our friendly Supporter Care team from Monday to Friday, 9am – 5pm on 020 106 5433 or hello@gsttcharity.org.uk.

Is the Hospital Trust aware that there will be fundraisers onsite?

Yes, the staff are aware that there will be face-to-face fundraisers onsite at the hospitals. The fundraisers are authorised to operate Monday to Friday 10am – 7.30pm, and occasionally on Saturdays as well.

How will my money be used?

By donating today you’ll be…

· Shaping innovative approaches such as new treatments for tackling chronic back pain.

· Revitalising staff in times of crisis – supporting their mental health and wellbeing during the pandemic.

· Helping the most vulnerable people in the community through projects like Homeless Health.

· Backing ideas from the brilliant teams at Guy’s and St Thomas’ like new rehabilitation programmes for people in intensive care.

· Supporting our diverse community – such as the Wellness Clinic testing for diabetes and heart disease in Black and Asian people.

What is Gift Aid and why should I sign up for it?

Gift Aid enables the Charity to reclaim the tax on your donation (provided you are a UK taxpayer) and receive a further 25p from every £1 donated, at no extra cost to you. A gift of £10.00 per month becomes £12.50 per month with Gift Aid. All we need from you is a simple declaration saying that you want to use Gift Aid – you may have selected this on the tablet in the Direct Debit section.

How secure is my donation and my personal details?

Our fundraisers are not allowed to collect cash or cheques. The information contained on the tablet devices can only be used by Guy’s & St Thomas’ Charity to collect your agreed contribution from your account and nothing else. We comply with the Data Protection Act and will not pass your details on to any third party. You are protected by the Direct Debit Guarantee and the Privacy Policy.
